Pumps are essential for lifting water in residential and industrial areas. The double diaphragm pump uses the two flexible diaphragms that go back and forth and give an illusion of the chamber that takes in or expels the water through the pump. This diaphragm works as a separation of the wall between the air and liquid.
How Does Double Diaphragm Pump Work?
The double diaphragm pump works on the stroke method means there will be back and forth movement of the fluid when the pump is started. The process keeps on repeating until the pump is in an “on” state. The two diaphragms are mounted on a common shaft. These pumps use compressed air with a system that directs the air towards the two air chambers that are towards the opposite side of the diaphragm. These are the steps that you need to follow to understand the pump’s working:
- The process starts when the compressed air system diverts the air to chamber A.
- Now the shaft will move towards the left side and movement of the diaphragm will raise the volume of pumping chamber B. During this point, the volume of pumping chamber A will get reduced. Valves will help the pumping chambers to maintain the flow of fluid through the pump in one direction. The fluid direction will be from the start section to the discharge section of the pump. Thus, the fluid will go inside chamber B and come out from chamber A.
- Now, when the shaft is completing the stroke, the air distribution system of the pump takes out the air from Pump A and directs it toward pump B.
- It’s time when the shaft will move in the right direction and reduce the quantity of the B chamber. During this time, the quantity of pump chamber A will increase. Now, the fluid will come out from chamber B and enter into chamber A.
- Now, when the shaft completes the stroke, the air will direct toward chamber B and the cycle will repeat when compressed air directs towards chamber A.
Applications of Double Diaphragm Pump
- You can use the Double Diaphragm Pump suppliers to transfer solvents for keeping the minerals away from the ore.
- You can feed the AODD Pump for spray guns
- You can circulate the liquid to avoid the sedimentation process and can do more with it.
